The collection contains newspaper articles, newsletters, songsheets, speeches and compiled lists of songs and life of Benjamin Russel Hanby, a songwriter, called "The Stephen Foster of Ohio." Hanby wrote the famous Christmas carol, "Up On The Housetop," "Darling Nelly Gray" and "Little Tillie's Grave." Includes mostly modern materials about Hanby collected by Judge Earl R. Hoover, and biographical information about Hoover.
